Have you been told about peri-natal hospice care?
It is a type of care that can happen in any hospital throughout Ireland. It means that you get the care you need to make the journey you have with your baby memorable and as peaceful as possible. Some of us benefited from peri-natal hospice style care, simple things that meant a lot to us; like getting extra time at the scans, having the whole family there, attending appointments at a different time to mothers of healthy babies.
Depending on your circumstance you may find the following helpful, some of us did.
www.alittlelifetime.ie – A support for parents who have recently lost their baby or have just been informed that they will.
www.jackandjill.ie – Provide home respite for babies and children up to four years of age.
www.lauralynn.ie – Hospice care for children with life limiting conditions
www.feileacain.ie – Provide support to anyone affected by the death of a baby during pregnancy or shortly after. They are associated with ‘Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep’ who have recommended photographers. Feileacain also offer memory boxes.
